Nouvelair orders new A320s

Tunisian carrier Nouvelair has signed a contract for the purchase of two A320s. The Monastir-based charter carrier belongs to the Tunisian Travel Service (TTS) group, one of the leading companies of the Tunisian tourism industry.

Nouvelair’s newly ordered A320s will offer a comfortable all economy cabin layout for up to 180 passengers. An engine choice has not been made yet. Nouvelair is currently operating 13 A320 Family aircraft, using A320s and A321s, to link Tunisian resorts with European cities. With this purchase the fast growing Nouvelair further expands its fleet to cope with sustained traffic demand in this segment.

“Adding further A320 aircraft to our fleet will allow us to further benefit from the booming tourism market in Tunisia and in Europe” said M Aziz Milad, CEO of Nouvelair. “Our current fleet of all-A320 Family aircraft is allowing us to work very cost efficiently and our passengers appreciate the comfort of the cabin. Therefore, it was a natural choice to add further A320s.”

Designed to optimise revenue growth, all new A320 Family aircraft now feature redesigned cabins with brighter and significantly quieter interiors, more shoulder level space and 15 per cent additional usable overhead stowage volume. The cabin weighs less than before and adds to the A320 Family’s superior fuel efficiency, which is good for the environment. The A320 Family’s impressive level of dispatch reliability further enhances profitability and passenger service.

The A320 Family features the most modern and complete fly-by-wire technology available on any single-aisle aircraft in its category.

With firm orders for over 5,070 aircraft, the A320 Family is the most successful single generation aircraft ever, and with around 1,600 sales in the last two years alone, it is also the fastest-selling commercial jetliner of all time. The Airbus A320 Family has been ordered by, or is in service with, more than 200 customers and operators worldwide.
