BASF increases prices for neopentylglycol

WEBWIRE

Effective immediately or as existing contracts permit, BASF is raising its prices for neopentylglycol (NPG) in Europe, Africa and Middle East by 80 euros per metric ton. The price adjustment takes account of increased operating and logistics costs.

NPG is used as a building block in powder coating resins as well as solvent-free and high-solids liquid coatings, unsaturated polyester resins and synthetic lubricants.

BASF has NPG production facilities in Ludwigshafen, Germany; Freeport, USA and Jilin, China. In order to respond to the growing market for NPG, BASF is increasing its capacity at the Ludwigshafen site by 10,000 metric tons.
