PLANO, Texas – EDS today announced that the EDS Foundation has approved a $25,000 grant to Collin County Children’s Advocacy Center (CCCAC) to fund the organization’s Play Therapy Program, which is attended by more than 200 abused children weekly. The clinical program at CCCAC is considered a leader in the treatment of abused and traumatized children and facilitates the healing process by reducing the effects of the trauma of sexual and physical abuse. This marks the first year that the EDS Foundation has supported the Plano-based nonprofit organization.

“We are thankful that the EDS Foundation has recognized the importance of our Play Therapy Program,” said Dan Powers, senior director of clinical and administrative services of Collin County Children’s Advocacy Center. “We strive to offer services to 100 percent of all victims of child abuse referred to us. EDS’ grant allows us to continue to provide our services at no charge without ever putting a child on a waiting list.”

The EDS Foundation was created to support EDS’ philanthropic efforts in communities where employees volunteer and work around the world. Since its inception in 2000, the EDS Foundation has donated more than $4 million dollars to 86 nonprofit organizations.

“Our board of directors was pleased to provide a grant to CCCAC and six other worthy organizations during its April meeting,” said Diane Spradlin, executive director of the EDS Foundation. “We are delighted to add CCCAC to the long list of nonprofit organizations we support, as they represent a cause that EDS employees are passionate about and provide countless volunteer hours to.”

The EDS Foundation supports nonprofit organizations involved in education, health and human services and arts and culture. The majority of foundation funds will be directed to these organizations in support of the productive use of technology in programs and processes. The remainder of the funding will be directed to general program support. All programs funded by the Foundation must have a current EDS employee volunteer partnership.
