Siemens Offers Gigaset Cordless Phones to Support the Next Generation of Communications
As part of the voice component of evolving next generation of communications, Siemens Home and Office Communication Devices (SHC) today announced that it is offering the DECT 6.0 portfolio of Gigaset telephones, including models E450, S450 and S455. The availability of Siemens DECT 6.0 products is the next group of products that follow the approval of DECT 6.0 standard for wireless communication frequency in the United States. These new products provide a new level of voice quality, coverage, availability and security, which is increasingly important as the number of in-home networks and devices grows.
With over ten years experience in residential DECT technology and global market leadership, Siemens award winning Gigaset DECT telephones are known worldwide for superior quality, feature richness, sleek design elements and advanced engineering. Not only do these phones provide exceptional voice clarity, but they also support new data capabilities through the DECT technology allowing service providers new avenues to deliver enhanced data services to their subscribers.
“Even with all the new data applications coming out daily, voice is still the most intimate component of communication,” said Gerd Pasedag, CEO, SHC. “This intimacy will always bring relevance to voice regardless of the method of delivery. Combined with data, the Gigaset portfolio of phones brings it all together: the intimacy of voice and the convenience of data.”
The phones have a broad and practical range of features, including call forwarding, caller ID, call waiting ID, redial and call back, as well as the ability to set up three-way conference calls at the push of a button. Six handsets can be supported by a single base at any one time and up to 150 contact entries can be stored and synchronized among each handset. The high-quality, hands-free function offers superior voice quality and can be used as a room monitor.
All telephone functions can be operated with ease using the self-explanatory icon menu. The illuminated, six-line color display (128 x 128 pixels, 4,096 colors) ensures users always have a full overview. Apart from ten standard melodies, five polyphonic ringer tones are also available. By allocating different ringer melodies to the contact numbers stored in the phone directory, the caller on the other end of the phone can be immediately distinguished - even without picking up the handset.
The various models are designed to meet specific user needs. The E450 is a durable phone that is shock-, dust- and splash-resistant.
The stylish design of the S450 ensures that it blends into the modern home. And the S455 has an integrated answering machine for recording voice messages, with up to 35 minutes talk time that can be controlled with ease via the cordless phone’s handset, or operated remotely with the aid of simple speech commands.
Personalized choices and the ability to combine voice and data on one device is a key factor for next generation communications. All of these Gigaset models can be used on both traditional analog as well as on digital voice (over IP) networks. No matter which option they choose, consumers can expect the same high quality of voice users worldwide have come to expect from the Siemens Gigaset brand.
