Scopus is Preferred Abstract and Citation Database across Asia

Scopus®, the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature and quality web sources with smart tools to track, analyze and visualize research, today announced that in the first quarter of 2007, 18 Asian institutions, including the Universiti Putra Malaysia, chose Scopus as the preferred database for their university library. Scopus was chosen for its unrivaled content coverage that will allow the institution’s administrators, faculty, and students to search and evaluate global as well as local peer-reviewed journals.

Sultan Abdul Samad Library is the central force behind the Universiti Putra Malaysia’s motto ’with knowledge we serve’. “It is with this in mind that Scopus was chosen”, explains Salmah Abdullah, Reference Librarian at Universiti Putra Malaysia. “The database provides our users with the best coverage available for their learning experience. In addition the Author Identifier and Scopus’ citation tracking functionalities help our researchers boost our research funding.”
