KFC Heats Up Summer Fashion Scene with Debut of Retro-T’s Benefiting Charity

LOUISVILLE, KY - The Colonel’s going to tinsel town as L.A. boutique Intuition will begin selling retro T-shirts featuring the KFC founder today. All proceeds from the shirts sold on www.KFC.com , at Intuition and on www.shopintuition.com will benefit KFC Colonel’s Scholars, a charitable program providing students nationwide with much needed college scholarships.

Debuting in four stylish designs, the shirts boast fun language as well as logos from KFC’s past. Women can wear “I march to the beat of my own drumstick” in a light brown hue or sport the Colonel’s 1952 logo in classic red. Men can don a T-shirt with KFC’s original bucket on charcoal gray or the brand’s first logo on burnt red.

“A great education is always in style and we’re excited that our retro take on Kentucky Fried Couture will help some deserving students pay for a college education,” said James O’Reilly, chief marketing officer for KFC.

Now in its second year, KFC Colonel’s Scholars benefits high school seniors who demonstrate success in the classroom and significant financial need. Each year, a group of 50 students will each be eligible to receive up to $20,000 over four years to pursue a bachelor’s degree at an accredited public university within their home state.

KFC Retro Shirts hit the Scene Along with shelving at Intuition, gift bags at the summer’s hottest celebrity events will boast KFC retro T’s.

“Celebs and non-celebs alike will love these new KFC retro T’s,” predicted Jaye Hersh, owner of Intuition boutique. “The shirts are fun, super comfortable and we are happy to help out this great cause.”
