Degussa increases the prices for DYNACOLL®, VESTOPLAST® and DYNAPOL® S as of July 1st, 2007

For Europe, Africa and the Middle East Degussa will increase the prices of adhesive polyesters sold under the brand names DYNACOLL® and DYNAPOL® S, as well as the prices of APAO sold under the brand name VESTOPLAST® by 10 Cent/kg becoming effective on July 1st, 2007. Since our last price adjustments, some raw materials showed a significant price increase. Major drivers were Adipic and Isophthalic Acid as well as Naphtha based 1-Butene, Propylene and Ethylene. Once more the shortage of Isophthalic Acid is putting a lot of pressure on the market. “While we will do our utmost to compensate salary increases by process efficiency, we are forced to forward the raw material price hikes to our customers”, so Thomas Wildt, head of the global business line Polyesters & Adhesive Resins.
