The World Renowned Agape International Choir is Taking A Stand For Love

Agape Choir in Concert On 9/11 Weekend in Washington, DC, Philadelphia and New York

Culver City, CA (August 25, 2005) – Inviting all to get on board the “Love Train 2005,” Los Angeles’ beloved Agape International Choir is bringing a musical celebration of love, peace and joy in a concert tour to Washington, DC, Philadelphia and New York City on September 9, 10 and 11. On this special 9/11 memorial weekend, the music celebrates the triumph of the Spirit over any human struggle and the message of universal love reigns supreme uniting all who attend.

Under the direction of Dr. Rickie Byars Beckwith, the choir will be celebrating spiritual unity and diversity in this powerful concert tour beginning September 9th at the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C.; an evening concert at the National City Christian Church; then rolling into Philadelphia at the University of Pennsylvania on September 10th, and culminating at New York City’s Cooper Union on September 11th.

The Agape International Choir has been honored to perform in such prestigious venues as Lincoln Center, the United Nations, the Greek Theatre, the John Anson Ford Theatre and the Getty Museum. The choir has been a featured guest performer for three of the World Festivals of Sacred Music held by the city of Los Angeles. Their songs, written by Dr. Rickie Byars Beckwith and Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith, are known and sung throughout the world.

Music Director Rickie Byars Beckwith’s exceptional talents have brought her acclaim as a pioneer in contemporary spiritual music, while Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith is the founder and spiritual director of the Agape International Spiritual Center in Culver City, CA, a transdenominational community of approximately 9,000 members. Together, this dynamic couple travels extensively sharing their music and message of love and unity with the world. According to Dr. Beckwith, taking a stand for love is Agape’s offering to the world and emerges as a vital pillar of the Agape movement.

The triumphant voices of the Agape International Choir and the inspired leaders who will accent this three city concert tour will open your heart and mind to a fuller vision of love and peace. The key ingredient is simple and yet profound: you can feel the love in their music, in their speech, and in their actions.
