ATLANTA – The State of Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Board today announced it has deployed a comprehensive point-of-sale (POS) solution from NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR) throughout the board’s chain of retail stores, which are mandated to sell the majority of liquor purchased by consumers in Alabama.

NCR RealPartner Dalcom Consulting Inc. is responsible for the sale, installation and continued maintenance of the solution, which consists of NCR RealPOS™ 70 workstations, as well as NCR peripherals including thermal receipt printers, cash drawers and scanners. Rollout of the POS solution is currently underway, with plans to complete installation at all 170 Alabama ABC stores by the end of the year.

“We strive to operate our stores in an efficient manner to ensure that those who choose to purchase alcoholic beverages in Alabama can do so at a fair price, while still generating revenue for the programs that help regulate and manage consumption in our state,” said David Latham, director, Information Technology Division for Alabama ABC. “From hardware to maintenance services, the POS solution from NCR and Dalcom Consulting provides the speed and reliability our stores need to continue to increase revenue and provide our state with the outstanding service and support we’ve vowed to deliver.”

The NCR RealPOS 70 workstation is designed to offer simplified serviceability for years of secure, dependable and efficient operation.
