FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif.— Steven Joe, president and CEO of D-Link Systems, Inc, the North American business unit of D-Link Corporation, will be a featured speaker in the discussion panel “Semiconductors in the Digital Home” at the OCTANe Foundation for Innovation’s (OFI) inaugural Southern California Wireless & Communication Summit, a day-long event June 5 at the Marriott Newport Beach.

The OFI event hosts leading semiconductor and communications companies and researchers from across the state to discuss promising technology applications and emerging trends.

“At $250 billion in annual sales, the semiconductor industry dramatically affects the multi-trillion dollar electronics industry,” said Gary Augusta, executive director, OCTANe Foundation for Innovation. “We organized this summit to give visibility to the innovations being developed by companies and researchers in Southern California. This area - Orange County in particular - is a hot spot for wireless communications, data network communications, the digital home and other emerging semiconductor technologies.”

“As a Digital Home market leader, D-Link is a company that has always embraced innovations in the semiconductor chip market in a strategic effort to offer our customers and resellers the latest technology devices for the digital home,” said Joe. “As one of Southern California’s leading technology and financial groups, OCTANe is once again serving Orange County by bringing together leaders in the field to discuss emerging digital home solutions and it should be a very worthwhile experience.”

Dr. Henry Samueli, the co-founder, chief technology officer and chairman of Broadcom Corp., will deliver the evening keynote address while Dr. Hans Stork, CTO of Texas Instruments, will present the lunch keynote. These noted researchers and industry executives will give their perspectives on “the state of the chip” market.

Steven Joe is also currently serving as a member of the UC Irvine Bren School of ICS Dean’s Leadership Council and the UC Irvine Chief Executive Roundtable. He has been involved as an advocate and council advisor since 2003.

To register for the event, visit www.octaneoc.org or contact OCTANe at 949-330-6564. The event is $95 for OCTANe members, entrepreneurs, venture capitol-backed companies, and university staff or students. For the general public, admission is $250.
