WEBWIRE

Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) today announced it has signed a distribution agreement with Dragon Technology Distribution (HK) Ltd., to meet increasing demand for open, standards- based AdvancedTCA® and MicroTCATM based products in China. The agreement also covers the distribution of Motorola’s broad portfolio of CompactPCI™ and VMEbus products.

Network equipment providers (NEPs) and manufacturers in China’s industrial automation and aerospace industry will now have easier access to Motorola’s broad range of standards-based blades, modules, shelves, application-ready platforms and communications servers.

“Customers have already confirmed that Dragon’s strong commitment to customer service and Motorola’s industry-leading technology is a winning combination for equipment manufacturers in China,” said Stephen Dow, vice president and general manager, Embedded Communications Computing, Motorola, Inc. “With Dragon’s support, Motorola’s products provide the ideal platform for the wide range of infrastructure being deployed to provide new services in China’s fast-growing communications market.”

“We are very pleased to have been selected by a company that is recognized as a global leader in both innovation and technology leadership,” said Steve Ahn, CEO, Dragon. “Working with Motorola will help enable Chinese NEPs to benefit from the advantages of emerging ATCA and MicroTCA based products, including reduced development costs, flexibility and increased time-to-market.”
