Fokker Services becomes an Airbus-Approved outfitter

WEBWIRE

Stork subsidiary Fokker Services of The Netherlands has been named an approved outfitter for Airbus Corporate Jetliners (ACJ), giving customers more choice in cabin completions.

The approval follows an extensive Airbus audit and evaluation of the company, which is an experienced cabin outfitter in the corporate jet market.

Fokker Services has already won its first Airbus ACJ Family aircraft completion for an Airbus ACJ of the Austria-based Stumpf Group, which is currently in Fokker Services’ Woensdrecht facility.

Hans Berends van Loenen, President of Fokker Services says, “we feel very privileged to become an Airbus-Approved Outfitter. Completions is one of the strategic growth areas of our company and the approval will support us in achieving our strategic goals.”

“Strong demand for Airbus Corporate Jetliner Family aircraft means that there is a shortage of cabin outfitting capacity in the market,” comments Airbus Chief Operating Officer, Customers, John Leahy. “In approving Fokker Services, following a thorough audit of its capabilities, we will be able to offer further choice in this specialised field to our customers.”

To ensure the highest quality in cabin outfitting, Airbus has now approved six worldwide completion centres for the installation of Airbus ACJ Family interiors. A close working relationship with Airbus ensures these completion centres work to deliver quality cabins in the equipped aircraft.

Airbus’ Corporate Jetliner Family now has more than 80 sales to its credit, and is established as the preferred choice at the upper end of the top-of-the-line corporate jet market.

Fokker Services, as the Type Certificate Holder for all Fokker aircraft types, currently supports over 800 Fokker aircraft worldwide with a full range of support services. It is expanding its integrated design, support and manufacturing capabilities to VIP aircraft completions.

Stork Aerospace develops and produces advanced components and systems for the aviation and aerospace industry, and supplies integrated services and products to aircraft owners and operators. The group achieved a turnover of € 549 million in 2006 with 3,532 employees out of the total Stork turnover of € 2.01 billion.
