EMC Delivers World Class Support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux

EMC Corporation (NYSE: EMC) announced today that it has strengthened support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux deployments by completing interoperability qualification of core EMC® platforms including EMC Symmetrix®, EMC CLARiiON®, EMC Celerra®, and EMC Invista®.
EMC worked with Red Hat engineers to extensively test Red Hat Enterprise Linux interoperability with EMC’s core storage platforms in the EMC E-Lab™, the leading industry testing facility of its kind. E-Lab exhaustively tests interoperability of EMC products with third party products to insure that they will interoperate “out of the box.” Products which complete qualification are listed on EMC Interoperability Support Matrices to signify that they are fully-tested and assured compatibility with EMC products.

EMC today also announced two additional investments to enhance support for Red Hat/EMC customers:

Development of the Cooperative Resolution Center to support joint customers through an enhanced agreement to exchange support readiness training, escalation information, and access to a joint lab to replicate joint customer issues.

CLARiiON CX3 Series FCP, RHEL, Oracle RAC 10g “stack testing” is an advance over normal industry practice to test only pairs of products. From this testing EMC has produced a whitepaper that describes best practices for running Oracle Database 10g Single Instance and Real Application Clusters (RAC) on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux server with an EMC CLARiiON CX3 storage array. Topics include storage setup and configuration, enterprise setup and configuration, database server setup and configuration, Linux setup and configuration, database setup and configuration, and backup and recovery.
