EPA awards over $5 million to the State of Louisiana to address underground storage tank needs

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently awarded $5,108,800 to the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality. The state will use the funds to address the most immediate underground storage tank needs in areas affected by hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The state will also conduct site assessments of federally regulated leaking tanks to identify problems and initiate corrective action.
