245-room Courtyard by Marriott Hong Kong to Open in 2007.

Marriott International, Inc.’s (NYSE:MAR) highly acclaimed Courtyard by Marriott lodging brand is coming to Hong Kong in 2007 under a management agreement reached with Tsinlien Realty Ltd.

The 245-room Courtyard by Marriott Hong Kong will be located on a harbor-front site in the Sai Ying Pan district on Hong Kong Island. When opened, it will be the first internationally branded, mid-tier hotel in Hong Kong and Marriott International’s fifth hotel in the city.

Upper-moderately-priced Courtyard hotels are aimed at travelers who put a premium on having superior accommodations with functional and welcoming environments that enable them to focus on the business at hand. Marriott introduced Courtyard more than 20 years ago around what business travelers indicated was most important to them. Since then, Courtyard has been equally embraced by leisure travelers and has grown into the company’s largest brand with more than 700 properties worldwide and ranks as the 13th largest lodging brand in the world.

“We are thrilled that visitors to Hong Kong will now have an exceptional lodging choice in the mid-tier category and are confident that business and leisure travelers coming to this vibrant city will appreciate this new Courtyard. There is no doubt that this hotel will be an instant success,” said Ed Fuller, president & managing director-international lodging for Marriott International.

Guest rooms at the Courtyard by Marriott Hong Kong will have higher quality finishes than many 5-star hotels in Hong Kong and will feature marble bathrooms, oversized glass top work desks, two telephone lines, a data-port, high-speed Internet access and Marriott’s newly introduced finer bed and bath linens—all in a welcoming environment.

The hotel will feature 49 executive-level guest rooms with access to an exclusive executive lounge and conference room.

For dining, the hotel will offer an all-day, casual restaurant. Additional amenities will include a fitness center, a grab & go counter, a business center with three workstations and laundry/valet service.

The Marriott International portfolio in Hong Kong is currently represented by the JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong, the Renaissance Harbour View Hotel, the Renaissance Kowloon Hotel, and The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Hong Kong.
