ABOUT THE EVENT: The Brian Griese/Steven Hutchinson “Champions for Children’s Hearts” celebrity golf tournament – sponsored by Lexus of Ann Arbor – will benefit the new U-M C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital and Women’s Hospital, and the U-M Congenital Heart Center.

The sold-out event will host several members of the 1997 U-M football championship team, current and former NFL players and personalities, as well as representatives from the 2006 American League Champion Detroit Tigers. More than 40 celebrity golfers are expected to play on Monday, May 21 at the U-M Golf Course.

All proceeds from the event support the care provided at the U-M Congenital Heart Center, and construction of the new $523 million children’s hospital and women’s hospital facility, set to open in 2011. With 1.1 million square feet, the facility will provide a new and larger home for the U-M Congenital Heart Center, and other specialty services not offered anywhere else in Michigan for newborns, children and pregnant women.
