Gisad Telekom Selects Nortel To Provide Long Distance, International Voip Services

ISTANBUL, Turkey – GISAD Telekom, a leading long distance telephony services licensee in Turkey, has chosen Nortel* [NYSE/TSX: NT] to provide and manage hosted VoIP solutions designed to help capture new customers and increase traffic for existing services while enhancing network quality and reliability and reducing operating costs.


These hosted solutions will allow GISAD Telekom to deliver national and international long distance VoIP services to business customers throughout Turkey from a new Nortel Hosted Solutions Center in Istanbul.

The hosted solution for GISAD Telekom will include Nortel’s Communication Server 2000 IP Multimedia Softswitch and Nortel’s Optical Metro 4000 next-generation SDH platform, both located at the Hosted Solutions Center. It will also include Nortel Media Gateway 3200 digital trunk gateways at various points of presence (POPs).

Nortel provides hosted solutions and network managed services as part of its Global Services portfolio, which offers a full range of network application, implementation, management and support services for end-to-end, multi-vendor, multi-technology networks.
