Barclays Wealth’s Investment and Product Office has hired Mads Pedersen from Danske Capital where he had been Chief Investment Strategist and Head of Asset Allocation. In his new role, Mr Pedersen will report into Barclays Wealth’s recently appointed Managing Director and Head of Research, Michael Dicks.

Mads will drive fundamental research based strategy for discretionary portfolios. He will lead a team which is an engine for ideas and recommendations on tactical asset allocation, equity regions and styles and credit market allocations.

Kevin Lecocq, Chief Investment Officer of Barclays Wealth, commented: “We are all delighted to have attracted a strategist of Mads’ calibre. Our quantitative, scientific approach to tailoring an asset allocation and risk management regime to an individual client’s needs, objectives and constraints distinguishes us from other wealth managers and Mads’ contribution will be significant. His recruitment further strengthens what is already a market-leading senior team here at Barclays Wealth and is another solid endorsement of our strategy to become Europe’s premier wealth manager. “

Since joining Barclays Wealth in May 2006, Kevin Lecocq has built a strong Investment and Product Office team with over 100 new hires in Investment Management, Research, Structured Products, Balance Sheet, Pensions, Foreign Exchange and Product.
