Media who wish to attend must notify Cathy Gramling in the Fort Campbell Media Relations office no later than 4 p.m., CDT, Monday, May 14. On Tuesday, media must be at Fort Campbell’s Gate 3 by 10:15 a.m. to be escorted to the IPPE Lab for the news conference.

WHY: In the new IPPE Lab, advances in sports medicine made for the athletic field are being applied to the battlefield and used to protect the nation’s elite soldiers from injury. Musculoskeletal injury is the primary cause of disability in the military and accounts for 33 percent of Veterans Administration costs and 18 percent of Army hospitalizations.
