SIKIDS.COM Unveils New Look and New Content

WEBWIRE

New York - SIKIDS.com, Sports Illustrated Kids website, today unveiled a more contemporary and bolder look as part of a major homepage redesign.

According to SI Kids Managing Editor Bob Der, “We are extremely excited to be moving forward with our plan to give young sports fans a safe, constantly updated web experience built around fun and interactivity. And this is only the beginning. We have some really cool stuff planned for SIKIDS.com that we know our kids are really going to enjoy.”

Along with the redesign, SIKIDS.com will now feature a video channel called SI Kids TV. The first original program featured on the site is “BobbleCenter,” a four-minute sportscast featuring BobbleHead dolls as anchors and athletes starring in mock highlights, interviews and updates from around the leagues. “BobbleCenter” will appear every two weeks on SIKIDS.com and is co-Executive Produced by Varsity Entertainment and Totem & Taboo Productions.

“We’ve brought an unconventional and creative look to the world of sports,” says Varsity’s Matt Morchower. “If you think what Kobe Bryant does on the court is impressive, wait until you see ’BobbleHead Bryant’ dunk with his head bouncing all over.”

New features on SIKIDS.com include:

* SI KIDS TV: Fun, original video programming
* Freeze Frame: Hundreds of SI-quality action photos
* Buzz Beamer’s Laugh Locker: New Buzz Beamer cartoons every week
* The Scores: Up-to-the minute scoreboards
* Art Gallery: Online gallery of user-generated drawings
* Games: A new free game every month

The new look will better serve SI Kids readers who visit SIKids.com every day. In addition, the expanded content and new navigation will help grow traffic and create a more robust and unique environment for the site’s advertisers.
