Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and information technology company, has established a product service facility in the United Kingdom for international customers of its Falcon® II family of tactical radio systems.

The new Harris service center in Winnersh, England, will provide repair and other technical support to 14 NATO-authorized countries that use Falcon II radios for military and peacekeeping missions around the world. These countries are the United Kingdom, Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Estonia, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia and Turkey. The goal of the center is to get radios back into the hands of warfighters more quickly.

“This new facility greatly enhances our commitment to international customers by offering quicker turnaround times,” said Paul Taylor, United Kingdom head of operations, Harris RF Communications. “And in this time of rapidly changing threats, turnaround time is everything.”

The center covers about 1,500 square feet and focuses on Falcon II products, an industry-leading family of radios in handheld, manpack and vehicular configurations that transmit across the VHF and UHF spectrums. The center will offer a full depot of technical repair skills. Harris has established a special e-mail address for customers of the center: rfcsrvc_uk@harris.com
