MEDIA ADVISORY: U.S. EPA to make Rockford Brownfields announcement May 14, 11 a.m.

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 5 Administrator Mary Gade, Illinois EPA Director Doug Scott and Rockford Mayor Lawrence Morrissey will make an important announcement concerning regional Brownfields efforts Monday, May 14, at the W.A. Whitney facility, 650 Race St., Rockford. Additional state and local redevelopment officials are expected.

Brownfields are abandoned or underutilized properties where real or perceived environmental contamination has slowed redevelopment.
