Boucherville and Montreal, QC – The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) and TELUS today announced an innovative partnership to webcast all the QMJHL games on telus.com/qmjhl. This exclusive five-year agreement will allow junior hockey enthusiasts to watch all 630 games of the 2007-2008 season, including the playoffs, live on the Internet.

“TELUS and the QMJHL have been working together for the last four years. It seemed only natural for us to combine our resources for the benefit of our Quebec fans, and for our fans all over the world,” said Gilles Courteau, commissioner of the QMJHL. “Fans, friends and family will now be able to keep track of their favourite teams, whether they are playing at home or away.”

This Friday, QMJHL fans can access telus.com/qmjhl to watch the Foreurs and the MAINEiacs fight it out in the quest for the President’s Cup. This unique experience will be free of charge and is made possible by the use of state-of-the-art webcasting technology.

“At TELUS, we are always looking for innovative ways to unleash the power of the Internet for the benefit of our customers and our communities,” said Stéphane Dubreuil, TELUS senior vice-president, Quebec Consumer Market. “We are very proud to use our technology to promote awareness of Quebec amateur sport and to support the QMJHL.”

According to Gilles Courteau, “this is just the beginning. We have more surprises coming this Fall. Until then, we wish the Foreurs and the MAINEiacs the best of luck and invite the public to join us for this season’s final series on telus.com/qmjhl.”
