Blue Nile Reports 34% Sales Increase

The Internet diamond and jewelry retailer, Blue Nile, released its financial results yesterday for the first quarter of the year. The company reported that net sales reached $67.9 million; this constitutes a 34% increase in comparison to last year’s first quarter.



The net revenue for the quarter came to $3.2 million – in comparison to $2.4 during the same quarter last year.



“Blue Nile had a terrific first quarter of 2007,” said CEO Mark Vadon. “We experienced tremendous growth in our business and generated substantial profitability.”



The company estimates that sales in the second quarter will be between $65.5 million and $67.5 million.
