Kodak Showcases Expanded Solutions Portfolio at FTA Forum

The industry’s broadest portfolio of solutions for package printers visits Montreal May 6-9 for the 2007 FTA Forum and InfoFlex ’07. Kodak’s booth 301/400 will feature an integrated suite of KODAK products, including workflow software, digital color proofing systems, thermal computer to plate (CTP) devices, and thermal and flexographic printing plates.

“In Montreal, we want to engage attendees with our comprehensive portfolio of products and services to show them that Kodak has a solution to meet their specific business needs,” said Vic Stalam, Director of Market Segments and Vice President, Packaging Products, Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group. “Visitors to our booth will see an expanded range of offerings including digital flexo plates and web to print services designed to drive efficiency and boost quality.”

Product Introductions

Kodak will kick off the FTA Forum by announcing the addition of digital flexographic plates to its package printing solutions portfolio. Kodak will offer MacDermid Printing System’s Digital MUST, Digital RAVE and Digital EPIC printing plates to customers worldwide. This announcement gives Kodak a full range of flexo plates from analog to digital.

Demonstrations

Booth 301/400 will also showcase the newest version of the KODAK PRINERGY Workflow System, KODAK PANDORA 2.9.5 Software, KODAK TEAMWORKS Software and KODAK EYEMEDIA Software.

The PRINERGY 4 system offers two major enhancements for transparencies to produce more predictable, high quality results while reducing errors and rework without flattening files. The Color Matcher and Trapper features have been upgraded to handle transparent objects natively. The PRINERGY 4 system also includes Adobe’s PDF Print Engine, with its full transparency support. Printers using any KODAK PRINERGY 4 Software configuration can preserve transparency throughout the workflow.

PANDORA 2.9.5 software makes it quick and easy to take completed designs from 1-up to multi-up layouts. This latest version offers improved control of die files, a floating license manager with PRINERGY workflow systems and automatic sized press sheets.

KODAK portal products such as TEAMWORKS and EYEMEDIA software facilitate collaboration, digital asset management, and online job submission, and offer monitor proofing to streamline the review and approval process.

TEAMWORKS Software is a web based content creation and approval management solution. Tools include task based workflows to control review and approval cycles, an online collaboration environment and a flexible project organization structure. EYEMEDIA Software is a digital asset management system integrated with the PRINERGY workflow system. It effectively manages and stores digital files, allowing all creative and printer/publisher stakeholders, to easily organize, access and review assets.

In addition, Kodak will demonstrate the mock up capability of the KODAK APPROVAL NX Digital Color Imaging System and a full range of KODAK THERMOFLEX CTP devices.
