IBM Joins With The Bank of New York to Implement Event Management Solution

WEBWIRE

IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced The Bank of New York’s implementation of IBM’s consolidated event management architecture and tool set. The architecture and tools facilitate the Bank’s ability to manage and service a complex infrastructure technology environment.

As part of a process to standardize its technology infrastructure environments, the Bank integrated several IBM event management tools across its organization, including the Tivoli Enterprise Console (TEC), Tivoli Business Systems Manager (TBSM) and Micromuse Netcool Omnibus tools.

The Bank worked with IBM to determine the optimal implementation strategy and integrated the TEC and Omnibus products to provide a consolidated view of the combined infrastructure environment. The Bank also integrated the Omnibus product with TBSM to support future business service management efforts, enabling a more business focused view of the technology infrastructure environment.

The integration of the three products supported a standard tool set for managing the combined technology infrastructure environments, the standardization and integration of processes used to manage the technology infrastructure environments, and the creation of a solid foundation for supporting Business Service Management initiatives.

This integration put The Bank of New York on the leading edge of technology adoption among banks worldwide. It also demonstrated the ability to leverage event management tools and architecture for supporting organizational integration efforts and Information Technology Service Management.

The Bank of New York is a global leader in providing a comprehensive array of services that enable institutions and individuals to move and manage their financial assets in more than 100 markets worldwide. The Company has a long tradition of collaborating with clients to deliver innovative solutions through its core competencies: securities servicing, treasury management, asset management, and wealth management.
