Pair to pursue entertainment careers on cross-country road trip in a 2007 Chevrolet Aveo Sedan; blogs and videos to chronicle their daily adventures; meeting with Jay Leno to round out week

[Detroit] - From Tuesday, May 8, through Monday, May 14, Eric Schackne and Filup Molina will travel cross-country inside a Chevy Aveo, a car they came to know intimately when they lived inside one for five days as part of the Chevy Aveo Livin’ Large Campus Challenge last October.

Though Schackne and Molina, representing the University of Florida ultimately lost the challenge to University of Southern California contestants, Dolce Wang and Anna Grigoryan, they consistently entertained with their wit, charisma and humor. With graduation, and the real world looming, the pair will use the road trip as an opportunity to hone their comedic skills in comedy clubs and improv theaters along their route from Gainesville, Fla., to Los Angeles where they will close out the week with a visit to the renowned Comedy & Magic Club in Hermosa Beach, Calif., where Jay Leno will be headlining.

The pair’s cross-country road trip will be chronicled on www.aveolivinlarge.com where users can follow the duo on their quest to make it big in the entertainment capital of the world - Hollywood, Calif.

“This is our chance to see how far we can go,” Molina says. “This opportunity could be our swan song before we cave in and accept an entry level 9 to 5 desk job, or it could be the launch pad for a career doing what we’ve always wanted to do--entertain people.”

At www.aveolivinlarge.com, visitors can track the duo along their route, view their daily videos and read their blogs. In addition, they can rate videos from Eric and Filup’s latest comedic and musical performances and post comments with feedback on how the guys did. They can also share their suggestions for the pair as they head to their next destination.

“Once again, the Aveo will be a conduit for young people to live large, while being cost conscious,” notes Ed Peper, Chevrolet General Manager. “Eric and Filup are coming upon graduation and fit the profile of so many young people entering the workforce and getting by on entry level salaries. The Aveo’s size, style and affordability enable them to live large on a limited budget.”

Schackne and Molina will hit the following cities and performance venues on their trip:

Tuesday, May 8:
Baton Rouge
Phil Brady’s Open Mic Night

Wednesday, May 9:
Austin
ColdTowne Improv Theater

Thursday, May 10:
El Paso
Bart Reed’s Comic Strip Comedy Club

Friday, May 11-Saturday, May12:
Phoenix
Phoenix Improv Festival
Playhouse on the Park, The Viad Center

Sunday, May 13
Hermosa Beach
Comedy & Magic Club

On the road, the pair will also document the small towns and big cities they visit along the way.
