IBM Retail Store Solutions Earns Windows Embedded Partner Excellence Award

The IBM Retail Store Solutions group today announced that it received the North and South American Windows Embedded Partner Excellence Award 2007. IBM (NYSE: IBM) received this award for Windows Embedded Point of Service this week at Microsoft Corp.’s Mobile & Embedded Developers Conference.

The Windows Embedded Partner Excellence Awards, previously called the Windows Embedded Partner of the Year Awards, recognizes visionaries and organizations around the world that use technology in an innovative and creative manner.

Microsoft recognized IBM for its wide-ranging collaboration in the retail space, including OS platform adoption initiatives in key segments of the vertical market and its tremendous year-over-year growth of shipments running Windows Embedded Point of Service. IBM has been instrumental in driving Windows Embedded Point of Service into large retailers.
