LaCie Presents A Sneak Peek At Artist Yann-Arthus Bertrand’s New Project

Paris (May 2007) – LaCie today announced it is offering a sneak peek at renowned artist Yann Arthus-Bertrand’s new video documentary entitled 6 Billion Others. Beginning today in Europe, a special promotional disc will be included with each newly purchased hard drive in the LaCie Extreme Desktop Series as used by Yann and his team. Promo discs will also be included with the portable LaCie Little Big Disk, and LaCie d2 Quadra with quadruple Interface.

A limited run of discs was produced using innovative LightScribe Direct Disc Labeling laser-etching, CD and DVD labeling technology. LightScribe is available separately with any LaCie disc writer.

Yann Arthus-Bertrand is best known for his photography exhibit Earth From Above. His latest project focuses on inhabitants of the Earth, the six billion people alive today. Yann set out with the goal of collecting 6,000 interviews from people in 60 countries by the end of 2007. A team of six directors traverses the globe taking snapshots and recording testimonials in HDV. Photos are stored, edited, and shuttled around the office on four 500GB LaCie Big Disk Extreme drives.
