Memorex USB Flash Drive Features “Sport-Utility” Design
Memorex, a portfolio brand of Imation Corp (NYSE: IMN), today announced a new addition to its popular line of USB flash drives. The latest Memorex TravelDrive™ combines today’s most popular flash drive features in a distinctive sport utility design. Sporting a range of off-road inspired colors, Memorex equipped its new TravelDrive with a jack-knife design, security software and Readyboost™ capabilities for use with Microsoft’s Windows® Vista™ operating system. With up to 8GB of capacity, the all-new TravelDrive allows consumers to capture, save and share their digital files in an ultra-portable, stylish and secure device.
Memorex’s newest TravelDrive incorporates a cutting-edge, capless design that swings out 180 degrees from the protective shell, making it a convenient and fun way to store data, digital photos, video and MP3 files. Available in several off-road inspired metallic colors including Desert Orange, Sagebrush Green, Ocean Blue, Fire Red and Silver, the TravelDrive also sports a black, soft-touch outer shell for protection and easy gripping. The range of colors is as functional as it is fashionable, providing owners of multiple TravelDrives a natural way to organize their files by “color-coding.” The device also includes a key ring, for added portability, and a wrap-around blue LED indicator so you always know when your flash drive is transferring data.
The new TravelDrive features an added benefit for users of the Windows Vista operating system, which allows qualifying USB flash drives to be accessed to provide additional system memory. This feature, called ReadyBoost, is designed to boost the performance of Vista PCs without adding internal memory components. The 2007 model TravelDrive is qualified for use with the ReadyBoost feature, in addition to being used for standard storage.
Making it as safe as it is stylish, each new TravelDrive comes standard with Portable Vault USB security software from Migo Software, Inc., a leader in data portability and security software. At a retail value of $29.99, Migo’s Portable Vault adds to the Memorex TravelDrive™ powerful password protection and 256-bit encryption to secure against data theft.
“Functionality meets style with the new Memorex TravelDrive,” said Carla Pihowich, director of marketing, Imation Consumer Division. “Taking a cue from what consumers say they want in their ideal flash drive, we redesigned the new TravelDrive to be a feature-rich, sporty portable storage device with great safety features - and it can actually boost your PC’s performance, too.”
