Victor (Vico) Antippas has been appointed as Senior Vice President, Universal Music Group International (UMGI), and President of Nordic, Central & Eastern Europe. Universal Music Group is the world’s leading music company.

The appointment, effective from May 1, was announced today by Max Hole, Executive Vice President, A&R and Marketing, UMGI, to whom Antippas reports.

In his new role, Antippas becomes responsible for Universal Music Group’s companies in Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, in addition to his existing stewardship of companies in Austria, Switzerland, Greece, Hungary, Russia, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania. He is based in Zurich, Switzerland.

Antippas joined Universal Music in 1983, and has headed company operations in Greece, Austria, Switzerland and Germany. He was named Senior Vice President, UMGI, Central & Eastern Europe, in August 2004.

The new appointment follows the recent decision by Theo Roos to step down from his post as Senior Vice President, UMGI, for the Nordic and Belgian region, and as President/CEO of Universal Music Netherlands.

Max Hole commented, “Vico Antippas is one of our most experienced executives, who has made a real difference to the success of our businesses in Central and Eastern Europe, and it was logical to extend his area of responsibility. We’re confident that his skills will enhance the companies which are newly under his supervision.”

Vico Antippas said, “I am honoured and very happy to take on this new responsibility for these successful UMGI operating companies in some of the musically most creative countries in the world.”
