CCAR-GreenLink(r) and Carfax Team Up to Assist Returning Troops; Partnership Improves Ability to Help Service Members Bring Their Cars Back into U.S.

OVERLAND PARK -- CCAR-GreenLink(r), the National Environmental Compliance Assistance Center for Auto Repair, has partnered with Carfax to assist members of the U.S. Armed Forces returning from overseas duty with their vehicles. On behalf of those service members, CCAR-GreenLink(r) receives free Carfax Vehicle History Reports to obtain the required legal documentation.

“This is a great program. We’re proud to play a small part in helping make life a little easier for our returning troops,” said Larry Gamache, communications director at Carfax.

Operated by the Coordinating Committee For Automotive Repair (CCAR) in cooperation with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, CCAR-GreenLink(r) supports military personnel who have shipped their vehicles abroad and are preparing to come back home.

“Carfax has made the grueling process of obtaining the paperwork needed to help our service members fast, easy and free,” said Robert G. Stewart, CCAR president. “Any vehicle coming back into U.S. that belongs to military personnel must be documented prior to importation. Carfax Vehicle History Reports help us prove the vehicle is U.S.-registered and conforms to all EPA regulations.”
