SPEED promoting online contest for all-star event

Winner will wave green flag for start of race at Lowe’s.

SPEED is conducting an online contest to award one lucky fan the opportunity to wave the green flag for the NASCAR Nextel All-Star Challenge on May 19 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.

More than 16,000 fans already have entered through SPEEDtv.com for their chance to be the CFO -- Chief Flag Operator -- for the event that will be aired live and exclusively on SPEED, beginning at 7 p.m. ET. The race also will be simulcast on the 1,400-square foot News Astrovision by Panasonic Screen prominently located at One Times Square.

In addition to being able to officially start the NASCAR Nextel All-Star Challenge, the winner will receive a weekend trip for two to Charlotte and VIP access to all of the at-track SPEED programs. SPEED will take entries through May 7. For more information, visit SPEEDtv.com
