RBC Capital Markets further expands Hong Kong sales force

RBC Capital Markets today announced a significant expansion of its sales force in Hong Kong with the hiring of five senior marketers with significant cross product experience in Asian markets.

Joining the RBC Capital Markets Hong Kong office are:

-Ronnie Lim, previously with Citicorp Investment Bank Singapore Ltd, and with strong coverage experience of South East Asian central banks. Mr. Lim will cover ASEAN-based financial institutions for fixed income products.


-Chen Zhao, previously with Industrial and Commercial Bank of China in Beijing and with extensive experience in fixed income, structured products and foreign exchange. Mr. Zhao will cover top tier Chinese banks for fixed income and structured products.


-Jasmine Toh, previously with Morgan Stanley in Hong Kong as an equity derivatives sales person. Ms. Toh will cover Hong Kong based private banks for structured products.


-Lisa Yeoh, previously with ABN AMRO in Singapore and with strong financial institution relationships. Ms. Yeoh will cover Singaporean-based private banks for structured products.


-John Wang, previously with HSBC and SAFE, with extensive experience in FX and fixed income portfolio management and strong relationships with the central bank sector.
These recent hires bring RBC’s regional sales force to 12 professionals, with plans to add another eight professionals in the coming months. “We are building a team that deeply understands the Asian markets and the major institutional investors in Asia,” said Ferdy Khouw, RBC Capital Markets’ head of Non-Japan Asia Sales.

Mr. Khouw’s team is currently focused on leveraging their familiarity with the diverse Asian investment community.

“Our goal in Asia is to become increasingly relevant to our customers in the region as we continue to grow our investor base through the sale of global fixed income, derivative and foreign exchange products, including new issues, mortgage-backed and agency securities, structured notes, CDOs and other OTC derivatives,” said Shane Akeroyd, RBC Capital Markets’ global head of distribution.
