Ricoh Americas Corporation, the leading provider of digital office equipment, today launched DocumentMall 9.0 at the 2007 AIIM OnDemand Conference and Exposition. This enhanced version of Ricoh’s Software-as-a-Service document management solution provides users with a simple interface and more document management flexibility to improve day-to-day business operations.
Putting users’ needs at the forefront, DocumentMall 9.0 provides an updated Web interface that features point-and-click navigation and intuitive, menu-driven functionality to optimize performance and shorten the learning curve for new users. To streamline the process of importing documents into DocumentMall, users can drag-and-drop documents and folders from their desktops to DocumentMall. Users can also now create subscriptions for commonly accessed folders and documents in the system that can easily be accessed through quick-links in a specified directory. Furthermore, notifications can be set up that alert the user via email when subscribed content has been updated.

DocumentMall’s clipboard provides an easier process for relocating documents within DocumentMall. Multiple documents can be added to the clipboard to copy or move these files for easy access.

DocumentMall’s Replicator, a new optional product, gives users a convenient method for transferring electronic documents from local and network drives to DocumentMall. In addition, it allows for automated and scheduled document uploading to ensure that the latest versions of documents are safe and available in DocumentMall. DocumentMall 9.0 continues to offer secure and direct scanning from Ricoh’s multifunctional products with barcode indexing for low to moderate scanning, and Upload Agent for high-volume document upload with third-party conversion software.

Viewing and editing documents in various formats can often be a challenge, but DocumentMall 9.0 takes this issue out of the equation. With its new viewer application, users can view, print and collaborate on documents deriving from a range of programs, even if that application is not available on their desktop. Users can also add notes, annotations, blackout content, and more as the viewer application puts an invisible layer on top of the document, allowing for extensive on-line collaboration without changing the original.
