SAN FRANCISCO, CA - The 96th annual ING Bay to Breakers 12K is just around the corner. On May 20, 2007, runners and spectators embark on a weekend full of athleticism, musical events, food and fun when TV’s Victoria Recaño leads the pack as Grand Marshall.

For the first time ever, all registered participants receive a timing chip, the first in a series of five leading ING Bay to Breakers festivities begin Friday, May 18, with the two-day ING Greater Body Expo at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. Runners will enjoy live bands along the course and finish on the Great Highway at Ocean Beach.

Afterward ING Footstock Festival features alt-rock favorite Cracker, an awards ceremony and food at Golden Gate Park’s Polo Fields -- free admission. Southwest Airlines sponsors its costume contest.

Also new -- ING Run for Something Better, a program challenging children to train for a 4-kilometer event culminating on May 17.

Back by popular demand -- battle of the sexes! ING Battle to Breakers pits the best women runners against the best men runners. Winner gets $25,000. ING Hayes Street Summit Award of $5,000 is given to first male and first female to “crest the peak” of the Hill.
