Frisco, TX — Epson has joined Fujitsu Transaction Solutions Inc.’s Pervasive Retailing™ Alliance (PRA), a select group of retail technology vendors that collaborates to enable retailers to provide consumers personalized interactions on the device of their choice, anywhere, any time and every time.

Pervasive Retailing Alliance members work in partnership to provide end-to-end solutions enabling retailers to minimize the time, cost and risk of creating real-time interoperability between disparate applications and devices that support a multitude of retailing interactions. Alliance members have solutions that support, augment or integrate with Fujitsu’s Pervasive Retailing Framework, a set of software and tools that permit easy interoperability of retail technologies, like point-of-sale terminals, self-checkout kiosks, loyalty systems and back office systems.

As a member of the PRA, Epson and Fujitsu will continue to work closely together in the following areas:

Integrate Epson products and technologies into Fujitsu’s product development cycle
Collaborate on sales and marketing opportunities
Incorporate Epson products into Fujitsu U-Scan self-checkout systems
Showcase the latest Epson technologies in the Pervasive Retailing Center (PRC) located at Fujitsu Transaction Solutions’ headquarters in Frisco, TX.
“Retailers are clearly expressing the need for a solution to address the challenge of multi-vendor, multi-platform interoperability,” said Lauri Suermann, Pervasive Retailing Alliance director at Fujitsu Transaction Solutions. “For the past four years, Fujitsu has been developing the Pervasive Retailing Framework and Toolkit to enable this capability. These components are live and are adding value in retailing environments today, and this alliance will help further extend this capability by leveraging complimentary solutions from the PRA members.”

“Epson is committed to developing technology solutions that allow retailers to run their stores smoothly,” commented Bud Weist, vice president of sales and marketing, Epson System Device Group. “The Alliance allows us to work more closely with Fujitsu – a long-time valued Epson partner – to offer retailers even more options for enhancing store technologies.”
