ATI Brings High-End Multimedia Entertainment to the Latest PCs; New All-in-Wonder® Addresses Global Consumer Audience Needs

WEBWIRE

MARKHAM, Ontario -- July 5, 2005 -- Computer users can experience the highest level of multimedia performance with the new All-In-Wonder® X800 XL for PCI Express from ATI Technologies Inc. (TSX:ATY)(NASDAQ:ATYT). This newest addition to the award-winning All-In-Wonder® family supports both European and North American users. All-In-Wonder X800 XL supports the PCI Express standard, which is offered in almost all new PCs. For additional PC multimedia entertainment, ATI is now enabling full support for Microsoft Windows Media Center Edition with the current All-In-Wonder family. All-In-Wonder X800 XL for PCI Express will be available in both North America and Europe later this summer.

For European customers, All-In-Wonder X800 XL PCI Express will enable analog TV reception along with reception of Digital Video Broadcasting for Terrestrial (DVB-T) television transmissions. DVB-T is becoming the major form of TV broadcast transmissions in Europe. It offers more channels and delivers a better picture and sound quality through a conventional antenna instead of a cable or satellite dish connection.

“This is the year consumers embrace PCI Express high-quality performance and ATI is ready to deliver leading multimedia solutions for those consumers,” said Paul Lypaczewski, Vice-President & General Manager, Multimedia Business Unit, ATI Technologies Inc. “As a global company, ATI is working hard to meet the needs of multimedia computer users around the world with examples like SCART and DVB-T support for Europe. ATI delivers outstanding innovative multimedia video products, such as All-In-Wonder X800 XL, that transform the PC into a global entertainment solution.”

ATI is also enabling support for Microsoft Windows XP Media Center with the All-In-Wonder family (Radeon® 9600 and higher). Now computer users can take advantage of a ’single-slot solution’ that delivers powerful video graphics support while enabling high-quality TV tuning functionality.

All-In-Wonder X800 XL PCI Express continues to deliver the high-quality features found in the All-In-Wonder family of products. New aspects of the multimedia video card include:

-- Multimedia Center™ integrated software suite creates a true multimedia experience with Eazylook™ (a distance user interface for easy to read on-screen information for TV and DVDs), plus TV and FM-On-Demand™ for saving radio music to MP3 files. Multimedia Center also includes integrated DVD Burning capabilities allowing for media creation done faster than real time;

-- Radeon X800 XL delivers graphics performance with 400 MHz engine and 256MB 490 MHz memory for exciting gameplay experiences;

-- For North America, the ATI TV tuner design provides instant viewing of up to 125 channels of cable or antenna broadcasts. The tuner also enables high-quality reception for FM radio broadcasts;

-- For Europe, the ATI TV tuner will enable analog, DVB-T and FM tuning capabilities while supporting SCART (Syndicat des Constructeurs d’Appareils Radiorecepteurs et Televiseurs) connectivity to televisions;

-- New uniquely designed “domino-style” connector dongles offer innovative modular input and VGA plus DVI-I monitor output connectivity for flexibility and easily accessible combinations; and,

-- ATI’s third-generation radio-frequency remote control device, Remote Wonder™ Plus, allows for complete computer control with the benefits of wireless connectivity. A 50 per cent reduced price coupon for a Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition remote control is also included.

In addition to the previously mentioned features, North American versions also will include:

-- Serious Magic Visual Communicator video production software that integrates real time video with real time 3D graphics;

-- muvee autoProducer DVD Edition automatic video production software that enables users to quickly and easily create home music videos;

-- Pinnacle Studio 9 (ATI Version) digital video editing with additional ATI-based features; and,

-- Gemstar’s GuidePlus+ intelligent free integrated program guide (North America only) to view, search, schedule and record TV programs at the click of a mouse.

All-In-Wonder X800 XL for PCI Express will be available later this summer with an MSRP of $399 USD.
