Online version of Bayer’s annual report for 2006 offers new features

New tools improve the usability and analysis of Bayer’s annual report

Leverkusen – Bayer has continued to improve the web version of its annual report and added a variety of analytical tools. The web version of the annual report for 2006 contains an interactive glossary and a year-on-year comparison function. This facilitates analyzing key data from the online version of the annual report. Another new feature is a video message from Werner Wenning, Chairman of the Board of Management of Bayer AG, outlining last year’s main events.

“The new tools extend the scope for online analysis of our corporate data. Published concurrently with the News Release outlining our results for fiscal 2006, the online version of our annual report is available to all interested members of the public worldwide and offers a range of advantages over the printed version. In this way we consistently utilize the benefits of the Internet,” says Lothar Oppenhäuser, Head of Electronic Media at Bayer AG.

The online version of the annual report for 2006 builds on the qualities of the previous year’s report and adds improved functions. International investors and analysts already commended the 2005 version for its especially good functionality, interactive features and modern design. A new feature of this year’s edition is that information on the previous year can rapidly be called up for comparison in the key data, management report, consolidated financial statements and stock sections. In addition, a special download center enables users to collect and download pdf versions of individual chapters and Excel files of the main tables for further use. To enhance understanding, an integrated glossary now explains technical terms, abbreviations and company products. This saves time by allowing immediate clarification of difficult terms. The Google search engine is integrated into the online annual report, as it is into Bayer AG’s corporate website, allowing fast and accurate searches for specific information. The online version also includes a “mouse-over” effect, highlighting individual lines in financial tables to improve readability.
