VeriFone Strengthens Partnership With Leading Middle East Acquirer Network International

VeriFone Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: PAY) today announced an agreement with Network International LLC, one of the leading credit card and payment services providers in the Gulf and Middle East region, to roll out the industry-leading and PCI compliant VeriFone Vx 670 portable payment system.

Based in the United Arab Emirates, Network International is part of Emirates Bank Group, a leading payments solutions provider with a recognized presence among the region’s retail and financial institutions. The agreement is a further step in VeriFone’s worldwide expansion, supporting its position as the global leader in secure, end-to-end electronic payment solutions.

Network International will deploy VeriFone’s Vx 670 – the most advanced portable payment system on the market – to restaurants, clubs, hotels, shopping malls and high fashion retailers, utilizing GPRS communications. Network International will be supported by VeriFone International Partner, Marshal, which has been deploying VeriFone solutions in the Gulf for over 15 years.

VeriFone’s Vx Solutions are currently being deployed for payment and value-added applications – including loyalty and electronic mobile top-up – in many countries across the Middle East region, including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Yemen, Egypt, Jordan, and other Gulf States.

The Vx 670 is the latest addition to VeriFone’s Vx Solutions. RoHS-compliant, its unique MAXui design has revolutionized all-in-one, handheld payment systems. Smaller and more compact than any of its competitors, it offers Wi-Fi and GPRS wireless options payment options, securely handling credit and PIN-based debit cards with vertical mag-stripe reader, and offering optional smart card support.
