Synovate Singapore strengthens market position with new senior appointments
SINGAPORE — Synovate, a leading global market intelligence company, recently announced new senior appointments to its Singapore management team.
Managing Director of Synovate Singapore, Ms. Miranda Cheung said that the new appointments to the Singapore office represent part of the ongoing expansion strategy and the strengthening of its South East Asian market position.

Mr. Darren Smith has been promoted to the position of General Manager of Synovate Singapore. From March 2007, Mr. Smith will have the overall responsibility for all operational and financial aspects of the Singapore customised research division. His responsibilities also extend to delivering greater customer insights while maintaining client cost-effectiveness and ultimately improving the customer experience.
Mr. Smith has been with Synovate since 2004 and he brings with him a wealth of operational and management experience, particularly in the fields of research and customer service management.
Prior to assuming this position, Mr. Smith was the Asia Pacific Director of ViewsCast, which is part of the Synovate group. While serving in this role, Mr. Smith successfully quadrupled ViewsCast revenues between 2004 and 2006.
Mr. Smith holds an Executive Masters in Business Administration (EMBA) from the University of Chicago. In his spare time, Mr. Smith runs a private investment club and is the Vice President of the Chicago University Alumni Association in Singapore. He also has a keen in interest in wine, cuisine and the opera.
Ms. Betty Wu has been appointed as the new Research Director for the Quantitative Research Division of Synovate Singapore. In her new role, Ms. Wu will have the overall responsibility of developing key accounts in the information technology, telecommunications and media market sectors. Her role is effective from March 2007.
Ms. Wu has been attached to Synovate for over eight years. Prior to assuming this position, Ms. Wu was the Research Director at Synovate Hong Kong.
Ms. Wu hails from Hong Kong and she holds a Masters of Science in Financial Management from the University of London and Bachelor of Arts in English Studies from the University of Hong Kong.
Ms. Radhecka Roy has been appointed as the new Research Director for the Qualitative Research Division of Synovate Singapore. In her new role, Ms. Roy will have overall responsibility for the qualitative research division.
Prior to joining Synovate, Ms. Roy was the General Manager of Qualitative, Tebbutt Research in Fiji. During that time, Ms. Roy successfully developed the qualitative research division in both Fiji as well as the Pacific Islands. Before moving to Fiji, Ms. Roy was also the National head for Qual with TNS India.
In her spare time, Ms. Roy enjoys reading and is an avid fan of cricket and tennis.
Ms. Cassandra Pang has been appointed as the new Human Resources Manager of Synovate Singapore. Her appointment was made in March 2007. In her new role, Ms. Pang will oversee all strategic and operational aspects of Human Resources for the Singapore office. She will also be responsible for implementing global HR policies as well as procedures in line with best practices.
Prior to joining Synovate, Ms. Pang was the Human Resources Manager of Veolia Environmental Services Group, a member of the Onyx group and one of the world’s leading waste management companies. During that time, she had successfully developed the HR infrastructure and operational policy as well as procedures.
