First major project worth EUR 39 million awarded.
Nordex AG has entered the Turkish market on a very successful note: Up until the end of March 2008 it will be assembling 17 N90/2500 HS (high speed) turbines with 80 meters hub height near Bergama. To date, mostly only fairly small wind farms have been constructed in Turkey. With an installed output of 42.5 MW, the “Yuntdag” project will be playing a key role in the country, with a record-breaking notional power yield. At mean wind speeds of 9 – 10 m/s, the strong-wind power systems will generate a combined annual output of around 160 million kilowatt hours, equivalent to a capacity factor of approx. 45 percent, and sufficient to supply more than 70,000 Turkish households with electricity.

The customer and ultimate operator of the wind farm is Turkish company İnnores Enerji Üretim Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. İnnores is a 100% affiliate of DOST Enerji Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S that is established by MV Holding, Portmobil Telecommunications and RDO Investment to invest in renewable energy in the region. This project is DOST Enerji’s first project of a medium term 300 MW installed capacity target.

Turkish Renewable Energies Act took effect on May 10, 2005 setting the ground to invest in renewable energy. The enhanced bill is waiting to be approved by the president that stipulates 10 year purchase guarantee with a remuneration rate per kilowatt/hour of “green” 5 to 5.5 euro-cents.
