XM Launches 30 Day National Initiative to Benefit Children’s Miracle Network

’XMKiDS Traveling Roadshow’ Kicks Off April 30 Making Stops at Select Wal-Mart Stores and Sam’s Club Locations Nationwide

WASHINGTON, April 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- XM, the nation’s leading satellite radio service with more than 7.6 million subscribers, and Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. today announced the XMKiDS Traveling Roadshow, a cross-country initiative to raise $10 million in 30 days for the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN), a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children at hospitals across North America. The XMKiDS Traveling Roadshow will kick off April 30 in Los Angeles, with XMKiDS visiting local Children’s Miracle Network hospitals and hosting events at local Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club locations nationwide before concluding in Washington, DC on May 19.

The entire on-air team from XMKiDS (XM 116), XM’s award-winning children’s channel, including Kenny Curtis, Jinx, “Absolutely Mindy” and Robbie Schaefer will broadcast live from the “Balloon Bus” for 20 days. Live performances will air on XMKiDS Saturdays from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. ET, and will feature some of the nation’s premier recording artists for young people, including Hot Peas & Butter, Joe McDermott, Milkshake and many others. The first XMKiDS broadcast and LIVE concert will be in Los Angeles on Monday, April 30 with a performance by Paulie Litt, Laughing Pizza, Rhythm Child and Meredith Brooks.

At every stop, the tour will encourage parents and kids to purchase a paper Miracle Balloon at Wal-Mart to help their local Children’s Miracle Network hospital. XMKiDS fans can track the bus and find out about events at http://www.xmradio.com/roadshow. In addition to live performances every Saturday, local Wal-Mart stores and Sam’s Club locations broadcasts from the XMKiDS Traveling Roadshow can be heard Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. ET. Since 1987, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc has raised more than $388 million in support of the Children’s Miracle Network.
