Chambers, who lives on the Palos Verdes Peninsula near Los Angeles, isn’t new to the entrepreneurial scene. She co-founded a successful technology consulting company, and manages recording artists. With an Oregon Hazelnut and Milk Chocolate toffee recipe she’d perfected over 15 years, Chambers took her confection to late night sessions with one of her clients at a famous Hollywood recording studio. The response was tremendous.

“Musicians, producers, and engineers ate everything I brought, and were constantly calling me, asking when I’d bring more,” says Chambers. One fan was Gregg Bissonette, a drummer known for his work on Santana’s “Supernatural”, and for live work with Ringo Starr. “He’s a toffee nut. He said it was the best toffee he’d ever tasted,” says Chambers. “I figured I’d better start charging!”

The missing ingredient was the right packaging. Chambers asked foreign-born friends what came to mind when they thought of Southern California. The response was always, “Hollywood”. “I woke up one night with the idea of round toffee in film cans with an art deco design,” says Chambers.

With the packaging perfected, Chambers made the rounds of Hollywood’s A-list gift purveyors, bringing samples for everyone. The packaging got them to bite, but once they tasted the toffee the orders started pouring in.

“This is the perfect gift for any Hollywood-related theme,” says Chambers. One thing is certain: in Hollywood what goes around, comes around.
