Rocklin, CA (June 28, 2005) – Girlfriend Media Group announced today the launch of total 180!, the first magazine for a growing, overlooked, demographic: the professional woman turned stay-at-home mom.

Premiering in November, 2005, total 180! will be the only magazine to target the more than 6 million* women who have left their full-time careers to raise their children (*according to the 2003 census). total 180! will cover the former career women’s new stay-at-home mom roles, identity shifts, relationships, financial situations and mental and emotional needs – all in a voice and style unlike any other women’s magazine.

“total 180! is about more than just shifting from career to motherhood; it’s also a total shift from the way magazines are written and marketed,” said Debbie Klett, President of Girlfriend Media Group and Publisher of total 180!. Klett has 14 years of publishing experience and is a stay-at-home mom herself. “Women want to feel accepted as they are, laugh with each other, and know they’re not alone,” added Klett. “Magazines are saturated with advice-driven articles that overload us with everything from how we should look to the choices we should make. total 180! will be the only magazine to finally speak with women instead of to them. Our goal with this magazine is to create the same female-bonding phenomenon that Sex in the City and Desperate Housewives brought to TV.”

total 180! will foster a sense of camaraderie with its readers with original, honest, reality-based articles such as, “Mach 3 With My Hair On Fire,” “Martha Doesn’t Live Here” and “The Sex Scorecard.” “We’re breaking new ground by focusing the entire magazine on real issues from our own point of view,” said Klett. “There’s no other magazine like total 180!.”

total 180!’s companion web site, www.total180mag.com, debuts today and women can visit it to immediately sign up for the subscription-only publication, which will be printed quarterly for an annual subscription price of $15.95. “Time-crunched moms don’t go to the newsstand to peruse the magazine racks,” said Klett. “Instead, we’re communicating via email and shopping online. Although there are web-based publications, or ‘webzines,’ for moms, we still prefer the touch and feel of a printed publication, not to mention its portability through our busy lives,” she added.

total 180!’s founders, Debbie Klett, Kristie Zamboanga, Andrea Bandle, and Sheri Heuer conceived the idea over coffee in November, 2004. The foursome, all former career women turned stay-at-home moms, met while working part-time for a local magazine. After generating excitement from everyone—friends, family, neighbors and industry professionals—they decided to form Girlfriend Media Group and publish total 180! themselves.
