RICHARDSON, Texas - Mavenir Systems has formed a partnership agreement with Ericsson in the UK to extend the communications leader’s Fixed Mobile Convergence and Low Power GSM offerings. The addition of Mavenir System’s mOne™ allows customers to utilize and link existing circuit switched , IP, Unlicensed Mobile Access and WiFi SIP devices to a rich multimedia service set provided by Ericsson’s IMS solution.

The leader in the IMS market, Ericsson currently has 30 IMS contracts for commercial launch and more than 60 additional trials throughout the world in GSM/GPRS, WCDMA and wireline implementations. As a result of the new partnership, Mavenir’s mOne solution and the Ericsson BSC and MSC, UNC and IMS platforms will allow operators to offer multimedia services across mobile, FMC and fixed domains with seamless session handover between the domains.

Mavenir’s mOne solution enables IMS across all available devices so that operators can interconnect any access with any network and service. Existing and next-generation networks that can be utilized and linked include 2G, 3G and 4G. With mOne, multimedia services can be deployed over mobile and fixed domains such as fixed broadband, WiFi, EVDO, UMTS and 2G-, 3G- and SIP, VCC and UMA-enabled devices. Ultimately, consumers and enterprises will be able to control their services, choosing when, where and on what device they receive voice, video and communication services with seamless continuity and optimum network delivery.

The two companies are actively promoting the joint solution in the market to key service providers in the UK.

“In working with Ericsson UK, Mavenir is helping operators reap the benefits of IMS such as differentiated services to increase revenue, improve customer stickiness and cost optimization,” said Pardeep Kohli, chief executive officer for Mavenir Systems. “The overall result of our collaboration is delivery of the multimedia services the consumer wants on any device and a convergence standard the industry demands.”

“By adding Mavenir’s mOne, we’re able to expand our IMS solution set and offer new ways for operators to provide multimedia services seamlessly across domains and devices,” said Jacqueline Hey, managing director, Ericsson UK. “We look forward to Ericsson customers benefiting from this strategic approach, and the future opportunities it creates for next-generation service delivery.”
