News Advisory:

The first annual “Kevin Dyson Music City Miracle Sports Camp” will be held at the Christ Church Hardwick Activity Center on Saturday, July 16 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The “Kevin Dyson Music City Miracle Sports Camp” is being established to assist in both the athletic and character development of 300 of Nashville’s inner-city boys ages 8-15. Christ Church is partnering with Backfield In Motion and Phase III Fitness to offer this free one-day sports camp themed, “Called Up 2005.”

“I want these kids to have fun and I want to provide them an opportunity they wouldn’t normally have...” says Dyson, former Tennessee Titan. The camp, led by Kevin Dyson and Scott Hord (Activities Director of the Hardwick Activity Center) will provide these 300 boys with the opportunity to be coached by professional level players in football, basketball, soccer, golf and ping-pong. Each sport clinic will focus on advancing sport skills as well as building personal commitment and character. Other community business professionals will take part in the camp to further encourage the importance and establishment of commitment and character. The camp will include two live concerts, lunch, dinner and snacks along with a camp T-shirt and an autographed football.

Pastor L.H. Hardwick Jr., Senior Pastor of Christ Church says, “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to host what we believe will be a life changing opportunity for these children!”

Donations, funding and support are being supplied by the National Football League, Christ Church, Publix, Chic-fil-A and Christian Golf Ministries with many personal contributions being made by members of the Nashville community.
