Children’s Hospital Will Get a Grand Slam From Celebrity Baseball Game


TAMPA, Fla. - has partnered with the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) to present the annual Baseball For Kids Weekend in Tampa, Florida. All proceeds from the event will benefit All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg.

A variety of activities are planned for this weekend, including a Celebrity Legends Game presented by on Sunday, March 25 to include a home run derby, softball game, and the annual Legends of Baseball Game at Brighthouse Networks Field, spring training home of the Philadelphia Phillies.

Several Baseball Hall of Fame members are scheduled to participate, including Tampa native Wade Boggs, Gary Carter, Bob Feller, Ferguson Jenkins, Jim Palmer, Gaylord Perry, and Robin Roberts. Additionally, perennial All-Stars Ken Griffey Sr, Goose Gossage, and Tommy John will join local and national celebrities including Tampa Bay Bucaneers running back Michael Pittman, Ace Young from American Idol Season 5, James Denton from “Desperate Housewives”, and country singer Daniel Lee Martin to raise awareness and funds for All Children’s Hospital.
