Soundair Repair Group, a licensed FAA Part 145 Repair Station, was presented with the Certificate of Excellence ``Diamond Award’’ for exceeding the minimum AMT (Aviation Maintenance Technician) participation requirements for the FAA training program. Certificates of Training were presented by representatives from the Seattle Flight Standards District Office and the FAA FAAST team to all eligible AMT’s for having met the requirements of this FAA administered program. This represents the seventh consecutive year that Soundair has achieved 100% AMT participation in the awards program. During the first year of the program 11 AMT certificates were awarded. With 30 certificates awarded for 2006, the seven year total surpasses 152 AMT certificates representing over 7600 hours of training.

In an effort to maintain the highest levels of aviation safety, The FAA Flight Standards Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Division (AFS-300) developed the AMT Awards Program to encourage AMT employees and employers to participate aggressively in available initial and recurrent training and classroom courses. The FAA recognizes employees and employers by issuing awards to those who successfully complete and foster initial and recurrent training.

Soundair feels it is important that technicians involved in aircraft maintenance continue to enhance their knowledge to increase the awareness of the issues important to aviation safety. To that extent, they continue to keep this program as an important part of their business.
