PALO ALTO, Calif. - HP (NYSE: HPQ) and Johnson Controls, Inc. (NYSE: JCI), a global leader in building efficiency and facilities management, have signed two new services contracts.

Expanding on the companies’ decade-long relationship, HP will provide Johnson Controls with global service delivery and data center recovery services.

Under a renewed five-year agreement, HP will become Johnson Controls global services provider for more than 1,000 locations across 60 countries with services, including global asset management and refresh services as well as software deployment management. In addition, HP will provide Johnson Controls with desk-side and help-desk services in the Americas. HP Services will act as a single point of contact for IT staff and end-user queries to bring consistency to IT support and cut service-resolution times.

Under a separate six-year contract, Johnson Controls has selected HP as the sole provider of data center recovery services to protect its business and ensure immediate recovery of its critical business processes in the event of a site outage. HP will provide recovery services for Johnson Controls’ three global data centers in Germany, Milwaukee, Wisc., and Holland, Mich.

HP will host continuously synchronized IT environments at Johnson Controls recovery centers and provide disaster recovery services on an as needed basis for the company’s mission-critical systems and applications.

HP’s desk-side and help-desk services are part of its End-User Workplace Solutions portfolio. HP’s data center recovery services are a key offering in its Business Continuity and Availability solutions.
